Calgary Crane Operator Certification - The process to permit individuals to be able to operate specific kinds of cranes is to take crane operator certification training to receive certification. Included in the crane operator certification program is the following: Regulations and policies, guidebooks; dangers of high voltage; safety concerns; emergency rescue procedures; signals and communications; pre-operational inspection; types, components and terms; crane capacity and configuration; pre-lift planning and set-up; hammerhead / luffing jib crane operations; wire rope and rigging; fall protection; climbing cranes; crane maintenance; First-aid & CPR; and WHMIS.

In order to become an overhead crane operator, the minimum requirements include possessing the mental and physical capability considered necessary to carry out crane work. The necessary capabilities that are required consist of depth perception, normal field of vision, reaction time, coordination and manual dexterity. Potential operators should not have the tendency to become dizzy. Operators who do not already have evidence of qualifications and experience need to obtain certification.
