Pallet Stackers

Pallet Stackers

A pallet stacker is a type of pallet jack that is utilized to transport, stack and haul palletized merchandise that are overly difficult for manual lifting. Its main purpose is to load and unload pallets on vehicles, and also transferring pallets to and from a variety of places within a storage space or stockroom. For the most part pallet jacks are made of heavy duty materials to withstand tremendous weights. Pallet stackers are occasionally identified as pallet jacks. They may be operated from a seated, upright or walk-behind position. Pallet stackers are divided into manual and powered varieties.

Some basic components comprise the pallet jack. There are forks that slide underneath a pallet, capable of transporting and raising it to a preferred height. The motor section or casing houses the gas-run, electronic or hydraulic equipment that powers the instrument.

Manual pallet jacks are hand-powered. They function hydraulically to make lifting burdensome pallets an easier task. Usually a walk-behind version meaning they are operated by pulling and pushing the stacker to its preferred location. Utilizing a foot pedal or handle raises the stackerâ??s forks. Squeezing a handle or trigger returns the forks to the ground. These models of pallet stackers are perfect for lighter loads of up to approximately 1 ton or 907.18 kg.

Most jacks can accommodate the lifting of extreme weights to around 5 tons with both the gas or electric models. They are physically less demanding to operate than the labor-intensive versions due to the hydraulic power that elevates and lowers the forks. These models are steered by rotating the handle in a specific direction. There is a button on the knob that functions to lift and lower the forks. A throttle set up on the stackerâ??s grips moves the appliance forward and in reverse. This style of equipment is generally referred to as a lift truck and is used from a sit-down posture.

Selecting the correct model of pallet jack may be quite important as designs will have varying lift capabilities, along with varying fork widths. Some designs of stackers might only allow two pallets to be loaded at one time, whilst other versions might be capable to stack several pallets. Certain designs of these lift trucks include an adaptable fork in order to allow the stacker to slide underneath pallets of different sizes and shapes. Multiple fork models can be fairly successful when different varieties of pallets are being used in the same stockroom.
